For Taylor Swift fans, meeting the singer in the flesh may be the holy grail, but those who visit Madame Tussauds in London will now be able to manage the next best thing.
A new wax figure of the pop star has been unveiled at the tourist attraction, complete with a cheerleader outfit, just like the one Swift wears in her Shake It Off video.
In fact, the whole theme of the wax figure is inspired by the hit song.
“The fans here, that come into Madame Tussauds London, from when the figure is here now and throughout February half-term, will actually be able to step on set in an inspired re-creation of Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off video, so they’ll be able to put props on with tutus, play the trumpet, shake their pom-poms here at the attraction,” explained Madame Tussauds’ PR manager Nicole Fenner.
“During February half-term we’re going to actually dress the figure in a different outfit inspired by that video every day,” she added.
Swift herself wasn’t directly involved with the making of the new figure, but sculptor Georgina Power had plenty of information to hand to help her get the waxwork just right.
“We’ve actually met her before, so I was able to use information from meeting her when she was little bit younger and then using it with more current information.”
“So, I had loads of research that I could plough into and get, hopefully, the best result,” she said.
Taylor Swift’s figure will be on display at Madame Tussauds London until February 22.
It will then head across the Atlantic to take up residence at Madame Tussauds Orlando.
